Dance 2 is the second work in a diptych — the structural continuation of a system begun in Dance. It does not illustrate sequence; it extends logic. The formal decisions that organize the first painting are tested here under greater pressure, pushed further toward abstraction without losing the system's internal coherence.
The geometric field becomes denser. Pattern absorbs more of the surface, and the relationship between figure and structure shifts further toward structure. What held in balance in the first work begins to tip — not toward collapse, but toward a different kind of resolution, one that belongs to this painting alone.
The two works were made to be experienced together. Placed as a pair, the visual relationships between them become active, each painting altering the reading of the other. Dance 2 can stand alone — its internal logic is complete — but the full system only becomes visible when both works are present.
