Chronicles of Chroma: Paint is a framed gouache made from the materials and logic of prior series — not collage in the physical sense, but ecologically in terms of visual vocabulary. The piece takes what has been produced, processed, and partially exhausted by earlier work and uses those residues as building material. Creation and loss held in the same plane.

The Chroma series marks a point in Banker's practice where color itself became the primary subject — not as decoration or mood, but as structure and argument. Paint is the entry point to that investigation: a work in which the act of applying color and the record of what that act cost are both present on the surface. The chromatic density is not effect. It is information.

The framed presentation is original to the work. What the painting offers is less a traditional composition than a concentrated field — layered, dense, and organized by chromatic logic rather than narrative. It functions as a document of a specific phase of practice: the moment when process became subject.
