"Boxed In" is a painting about structure — specifically, the structures that regulate what can be thought, said, or transmitted before it reaches open ground.
The box in the title is not physical. It is a system of filtering: information shaped before it arrives, expression constrained at the point of origin, ideas intercepted and neutralized before they can exist outside the framework that governs them. The geometry in the painting is not decorative. It is the architecture of that system made visible — ordered, fluorescent, and self-enclosed.
What makes the structure effective is not force but invisibility. The longer a person remains inside it, the more natural it becomes — until the boundary between the system and the world is indistinguishable. The cage stops looking like a cage. It starts looking like the sky.
The painting is not an argument. It is a point of recognition. If awareness comes early enough, the architecture collapses — it can only hold what does not see it clearly. "Boxed In" is made for the viewer who already feels something is wrong with the frame.
